Established in 1972, Blue Hill was
originally known as "Mykiss"
Kennel. As a young adult on my own,
I first started showing
Yorkshire Terriers. Having all my life dealt with hounds and
spaniels, toys were a breeze.
However 6 months after my first
show with the Yorkie, I fell in love with the Maltese
and had to have them in my life.
After researching many bloodlines
and kennels, my first "show"
Maltese
came from Marge Rozik of Villa Malta Kennel. I
later fell in love with the Marcris line and with it's
creator, Joyce Watkins. With careful blending of
bloodlines, hard work and lots
of devotion, I was very comfortable
and proud of what I had achieved.
Several years later I changed
the name to "Blue Hill" when we
incorporated our American Saddlebred horses with the Maltese. Showing
both dogs and horses kept us busy but it was great
fun for me as well as my children.
Living in upstate New York, our home was on a big hill and our house and barn were blue.
When looking down into the valley, a blue haze could be seen early in the
morning, thus Blue Hill was born.
Through the years I have titled to their championship many dogs of my own
as well as for others. I have always loved showing dogs and started
showing on a professional level. My daughter traveled with me and together
we made a great team. She loved gloating when she "beat" mom. My
daughter has taken a break to raise her own daughter and I now live in Florida
still showing for myself and for
others.
